GEA Girls Get Set
A group of year 10 students attended the GirlsGetSet Day at GE Aviation in Cheltenham. The aim of the day was to give the students a chance to take part in engaging STEM related activities and find out about the opportunities available to them in their future careers.
- Hoverboard:Students were provided materials to make small hoverboards so they could learn how a hoverboard glides over surfaces and the effects of air.
- F1 competition: the purpose of this activity is to understand how Newton’s 3rd law is applied to cars and principles of aerodynamics and how team work is a focus in engineering. Students competed in teams to design and produce cars, with prizes for the best design and most realistic cars. Customer requirements were also given to the students to enable them to think outside the box.
