On Thursday 7th March Barnwood Park celebrated World Book Day. Students at Barnwood Park were lucky enough to be visited by prize-winning author Barbara Spencer who has written many books including Broken, Kidnap and Time Breaking. All of Year 9 and Year 10 heard talks by Barbara about her life and her writing and a specially selected group of Year 7s and Year 8s have been lucky enough to take part in a workshop led by Barbara.

Students took part in a ‘Who Am I?’ treasure hunt, working their way around school to work out which book character their teachers had dressed up as in celebration of World Book Day. Students have also taken part in World Book Day activities in their lessons and everyone received the World Book Day tokens that will enable them to receive a free book.
