The annual Gloucestershire young Photographer Of The Year competition, run by the Cheltenham Camera Club and Gloucester Rotary Club, is open to all Gloucestershire schools and all age groups from primary to Sixth form.

Attracting 600 entries, the winning entries are displayed at the Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham from the 23rd April. Barnwood Park regularly enters over 60 images from the Y10 and 11 GCSE Photography groups and Year 9, and for 2017 we were judged “Best School”! We also achieved a 2nd place entry, with Jasmine Pitt’s photo “Breakthrough”. Shauna Townsend’s entry “Formation” was also awarded “Commended”, and both students have been invited to the opening of the exhibition by the Mayor of Cheltenham on April 22nd. Photography teacher Mr Hayne will also be there to collect the award for “Best School”. A further 8 entries were also selected for display in the exhibition, and all the school’s entered photographs can be seen in the website gallery. Click Here to view more photos.
