Careers Fayre

Barnwood Park School's Careers Fayre was held on Friday 19th November. Years 10 & 11 students spent the afternoon interacting with local employers, apprenticeship providers, 6th forms and colleges, the hall was buzzing with their excitement at talking to the contributors.

It was lovely to see ex pupils promoting their post 16 choices notably Keira Dobbs, Annabelle Faulkner, Weronika Stoop, Aminata Jah and Meghan Dix now respectfully studying for A levels or Degrees at Crypt, Ribston, St. Peters, Cirencester College and the University of Gloucestershire.

Quotes:

Kier Construction - "It was fantastic to be a part of Barnwood Park’s Careers Fair by representing Kier Construction and sharing the different opportunities within the Construction industry. As a young employee of Kier, I have a passion for helping the younger generation find a career path that they’re interested in! I want to say a massive thank you to the Staff at the school for their hospitality! Kier wishes the students all the success in the future with their careers and hopes they choose Kier as a company to work for".

Dowty - “It was fantastic to be able to meet and talk to so many engaged young people, face-to-face! I really enjoyed talking through their plans for the future and hopefully opening a few minds to the opportunities in apprenticeships and engineering. Always a pleasure to visit Barnwood!”.

Olivia Kizelbach Year 11 - "I believe that the Careers Fayre had a positive impact on my understanding of the options for my future. It gave me the encouragement and motivation to reach for my goals.
