Charity Day
Friday was a Charity Day in school in aid of Winston’s Wish. Winston’s Wish is one of our House charities this year and as part of the day, students attended school in non-school uniform raising £445 that will be split between Winston’s wish and the two other House charities. There was also raffle with an amazing array of prizes and a ‘charity challenge’. The challenge was to row/cycle from Barnwood to Land’s End, a distance of 229 miles or 368.5 km. Staff and students took part across the day and by 3:15 we had made it to Land’s End and were on the way back having totalled 246 miles or 393.6 km. The new senior student team were superb and contributed around 80 miles between them which the staff were very grateful for! The raffle and charity challenge raised an additional £361.15 that will support the work of Winston’s Wish. Thank you to all the students, staff and parents/carers who supported the charity day.
